I am a PhD student at the University of North Carolina, Chapel Hill. I received my first master’s degree in musicology from the University of California, Irvine, and my bachelor’s degree in cello performance from the University of California, Santa Cruz.

My research interests include hip hop, electronic music technologies of the 1970s and 80s, timbral studies and analysis, and the history and aesthetics of the hip hop music video. You can find links to my publications here, and I keep an up-to-date CV available here.
